100_women, prompt "obsession".
Dr. Hogback is squealing and flapping his arms about, which isn’t particularly unusual.
Perona just rolls her eyes and looks away. Hogback is not cute, and Perona doesn’t really care for things that aren’t cute.
“Don’t say that, Cindry-chan!” Hogback wails, and Absalom glances at him, and Perona glances at Absalom.
Absalom has the potential to be cute, with that lion’s muzzle and all that blonde hair. But he isn’t, and he’s a pervert at that, and he always tells her that she’s being too harsh towards Bearsy, which Perona doesn’t appreciate.
Being told what to do isn’t cute at all.
Cindry isn’t really cute either. She could be, maybe, but there’s nothing cute about that blank stare.
Her hair is cute, Perona concedes, but her curves aren’t cute. They’re something else altogether.
Perona realises she’s staring at the exact same moment that Cindry does.
Cindry is a zombie, a subordinate, but there’s something about the way she moves that makes people forget that. Like the way her hips sway, even while her shoulders remain rigid, as she moves towards Perona.
Close to Perona, too close, and she can smell the sweet scent of Cindry’s perfume, but it isn’t cute, and Cindry’s eyes are so blank and Perona can’t look away.
Everything around them stills as Cindry moves so close that her chest is pressed against Perona’s own, and she can distantly hear Hogback whimpering and Absalom panting, but they could be anywhere, could be in a completely different room for all Perona knows.
Because, in that moment, all Perona knows is the look in Cindry’s eyes, the way there’s nothing there and the way Perona feels like she could fall into the gaze and never stop falling, and Cindry isn’t cute, she’s something more.
“Plates should disappear from this world,” Cindry murmurs.
And then Cindry moves away again, walking across the room in a unwavering path that forces Hogback to jump out of her way.
Perona watches her with wide eyes.
Absalom is still panting.
“D-don’t speak, Bearsy!” Perona snaps, and her voice is thinner than usual, and she feels flushed and a little light-headed and that’s not cute at all.
