onepieceyaoi100, prompt "common sense".
It hit Zoro like a physical blow. That feeling of something not being right. Took the barest of moments to catalogue his senses, and decide it was the smell. Or, rather, the lack of it.
He could hear voices coming from the galley, and yet he couldn’t smell breakfast.
He paused for a moment, eyes closing, focusing on the muffled words coming from inside.
“…Plain common sense.” Nami’s voice, sounding decisive. “If the constant fighting isn’t breaking the tension, this is the only other logical explanation.”
“But I never saw any hint that they were … you know.” Usopp’s voice sounded doubtful.
“Well, that’s because you’re not perceptive enough,” Nami replied simply, and Zoro heard Usopp splutter and mumble something unintelligible.
“Do you think Zoro found the note you left him?” Chopper asked.
Zoro frowned and thought back on the scrap of paper he’d woken to find taped to his forehead. He’d thrown it across the room without even glancing at it.
“Perhaps he’ll just happen to visit the hold of his own will,” Robin suggested, and her voice sounded closer than all the others, as though it were on just the other side of the door.
Zoro scowled and turned on his heel, Luffy’s cry of “But what about breakfaaaast?” following him all the way to the hold.
He’d been expecting another of Nami’s schemes, some new way to cheat him out of money.
He hadn’t been expecting to find Sanji, stripped and gagged, hands bound, ankles tied to the chair, legs spread. Blushing and wide-eyed and helpless.
Honestly, Zoro knew that certain members of the crew didn’t trust his intelligence. But he didn’t need the giant and hastily-painted banner proclaiming “Get it out of your system already!” to know just how to react to such a situation.
