Title: Stripes
Fandom: One Piece
Pairing: Zoro/Sanji
Rating: PG
Words: 370
Notes: For
100moods, prompt "cranky".
Summary: Christmas free of addiction.
Zoro swung open the galley door and ambled in.
“How long until-” he tried to ask, before ducking under the ladle that flew at his head.
“It’ll be ready when it’s ready!” Sanji practically screamed, voice edged and ragged and a vein popping in his forehead, and Zoro eyed the kitchen knife clutched in his hand warily.
He didn’t really care when dinner would be ready, even if the smell of turkey had been tickling his senses for the last hour. But Luffy had nagged at him to go check on Sanji’s progress, and he’d wondered why Luffy hadn’t just found out himself, but now he was starting to get it.
Nami’s smile had been sweet and airy, the very picture of innocence, but the tone of her voice and the severity in her eyes had made it quite clear she wasn’t joking about her festive requests.
No arguing, and that took all the fun out of the day, but Zoro could cope. It wasn’t like his life revolved around picking fights with the lovecook or anything.
No booze for Zoro, and that was doable too. A little annoying, but Zoro refused to be tied down by things so trivial as desire and craving, and it just became another part of his training.
No cigarettes for Sanji, and that was apparently the sticking point.
So Nami was happily celebrating a Christmas free of shouting, drunk swordsmen and the smell of nicotine, and Zoro was bored but persevering, and Sanji had been bellowing at anyone who dared breathe too close to his personal space.
And sucking at candy canes like they were a lifeline, apparently, judging by the mesmerising shade of pink his lips were turning.
It had been a long time since Zoro had seen Sanji so worked up, his chest heaving and eyes unnaturally bright and teeth bared around the red and white candy cane hanging from his mouth, and Zoro felt his hormones stir in interest.
He’d made Nami a promise and he was a man of his word, but he already knew there was an almighty argument brewing on the horizon as he lurched forwards, snatching the candy cane from Sanji’s mouth, and crushed their lips together.
